The story: a young lad was once buying sweets
from the market. The halwai was not an honest man. He gave him a short measure.
“You are not giving me full weight?” said the boy. Never mind,” said the
shop-keeper, “you with have the less to carry.” The boy said nothing in reply.
He only kept back a ten-paisa piece, when he paid him for the sweets. “Look
here, me boy,” said he, “you haven’t made full payment for the sweet.” “Nerve
mind,” replied the boy, “you will have the less to count.” The dishonest
shopkeeper had to keep quiet, because short payment from the lad was only due
to his giving him a short measure.
