A policeman on traffic duty in essay English . 55

There stands a policeman in the middle of the crossing to control the traffic. With one hand he gives a signal for all Tonga, taxi, rickshaws, cars, bicycles and pedestrians to stop. And, with the other, he directs all kinds of traffic to go on moving unchecked. But, when he turns to right or the left, the stopped traffic comes to a standstill. In this way, he goes on changing his position, and the traffic goes on moving or stopping, according to his signals. If a cyclist or the driver of a carriage does not pay proper attention to have signals, he challans him the culprit is, therefore, obliged to appear before a magistrate, on the fixed date, and is fined by him for violating the traffic rules. He does not allow two persons to go on a bicycle; three, to go on a scooter; and five or more, to go in Tonga or taxi. At the same time, he does he spare anybody, if an accident takes place. He is , therefore, a very useful public servant. He does all he can for safety on the road, and we must all be very grateful to him.
