The
story: A fox and a
wolf met each other one winter afternoon. They decided to go to the river for a
walk. On their way, wolf began to boast of his strength and cleverness. The fox
gave him a patient hearing. But, when he had finished his tall, he said to the
wolf, “Do no talk nonsense. I know what you are.” The wolf lost his temper and
said “shut up, you fool, and get ready to die a miserable death.” With these
words, he tried to spring upon fox. But the fox ran away across the thin ice of
a frozen canal. The wolf lost no time to chase him. The thin sheet of ice broke
under his weight, and he was drowned.
Moral: Do not despise those who seem to be
weaker than you are.
