THE DOG is
the most popular of all the pets. It is of many kinds and colours. It varies in
its size and shape. It may be just as small as a cat or as big as a wolf. It
has four legs, a long body, two ears and very sharp teeth. It eats bread and
meat. But it is very fond of bones. It has great love for its master. It begins
to wag its tail, as soon as it seems hi. It licks his shoes and lies down at
his feet to gain his affection. Children love to play with it. Ladies also do
the same by seating it in their laps. It is used for hunting and keeping a
watch. It begins to bark at the sight of a stranger, and would not let him
enter the house or the field of its master. It would bear everything except the
sight of its own kind. It is a very faithful animal. It follows its master,
where he goes. It defends him, even at the cost of its own life. His dearest
friends and nearest relatives may betray him, but it would never do so. Would
that man, the crown of all creation, could learn a lesson from this humble
creature.
