The camel is
an ugly animal. It has a huge body with a hump on its back. It has four clumsy
legs with soft pads under its feet, a long neck and a small tail it runs very
fast over the sand, and is called “ the ship of desert,” it stores a lot of
water in its stomach. It fulfills its needs from this stock, if it fails to get
any water for several days. It can also smell water from a great distance. So
people travelling through a desert, let it loose, to find water for itself, it
is very, leaves of trees and thorns. It is very fond of dates. It carries heavy
loads from place to place. It is also used for ploughing and drawing water from
the wells. It is a blessing for the nomads roaming about in the sandy areas.
