The elephant
is huge animal. It is found in the jungles of Burma, Africa, Bangla Dish and
some other hot countries of the world. It can easily be tamed. It can also be
trained to show wonderful feats in the circus. Children enjoy a ride on its
back in the zoo. It has four pillar-like legs, two fan-like ears, two small
eyes and a big head. Its beautiful tusks and very precious and are used for
making costly things like buttons, toys and present-boxes. Its trunk serves the
purpose of a hand in eating grass, drinking water and taking a bath. It eats
sugar-cane with great delight. It is very faithful to its master. It is driven
by the mahaut, and the riders sit on its back in a gaily decorated box called
the haudah. It was kept by kings and princes for riding on state occasions and
for fighting in the fields of battle.
