The snake is
found in almost every country of the world. It is of many kinds and colours.
Its shape and size are too well-known to need any explanation. Some snakes are
hardly ten or twelve inches long, while found in houses, fields, jungles,
rivers and hilly mankind. The cobra spreads its hood from the ground. It sways
from side to side, and it bites with a loud hiss. Its bite usually causes
death. The python is a very large snake. Sometimes it is thirty feet long and
is as thick as a man’s thigh. It is not poisonous, but it has great strength.
And it kills its victim by winding itself round him and crushing hi to death.
Whatever its size, we are very much afraid of it.
