Volleyball
is minor game. It is very easy to be played. T is cheap as well as interesting.
Its ground is 60 feet long and 30 feet wide. A net, 8 feet high, is hung on two
poles fixed in the middle of the ground, to divide it into two equal halves.
There are nine players on either side. A player standing at the farthest end of
the boundary line hits the ball with his right hand. It goes over to the other
side, and is returned over the net, without letting it fall down. But if it falls
to the ground, a point is lost, and the service is changed. Thus the side that
scores twenty points first wins the match. The referee stands on a big stool
beside a pole. He watches the game very carefully. It is his duty to see that
the rules of the game are carefully observed by both the sides. He blows the
whistle, whenever a point is lost or won.
