A hockey
match was played on the police Ground last week. It was between the Muslim club
and the city club. Both the teams were equally strong. So a large crowd of
people came to witness it. The players were wearing very beautiful uniforms.
The captain of the city club won the toss, the players took their positions and
game began, with the whistle of the referee, at 5 p.m. the Muslim club soon
began to press the city club very hard. But their defense was very strong. So
neither team could score a goal during the first half. After the interval, the
city club made a fierce attack their captain, with a lucky scoop in the “D”,
put the ball in the net and scored the first goal of the match, in the midst of
loud shouts of joy. There were only three minutes more for the match to come to
an end. The game became very exciting. But neither team could score another
goal. Thus the match ended in a draw.
