A wrestling
match took place between Akram and shaukat yesterday. More than 10,000 people
of all ages went to the people’s park to wintess it. My friend and I bought
tickets worth five rupess each and went in we sat on chairs and began to wait
for the matches to begin. The judges came at 3p.m and sat in a sofa set beside
the arena. Pairs of wrestlers came there, trun by turn, to show the feats of
their skill, and returned after one had overthrown the other. Akram and Shaukat
were the last to appear on the scene. They shook hands with each other, with
shouts of Allah-o-Akbar, and the match began. They moved about in a circle,
they came to grips, each trying to get the better of the other. But it was hard
fight, and victory was not an easy job. All of a sudden, Akram pulled the leg
of shaukat and threw him down. The next moment, his back and shoulders touched
the ground, and the judges declared Akram victorious. His supporters garlanded
him and led him to the town, in the form of a huge procession.
ortune favored us, and they were
all out for 93. We were glad to win the match.
