The
story: once upon a
time a large number of birds and animals held a meeting to choose a king, for
themselves. The eagle claimed to be their king, because he was the bravest of
the birds. But the lion said that it was his right to be their king, because he
was the strongest animal in the world. They could not come to any settlement
and decided to fight the matter out.
The bat took no part in the battle.
It only sat in a tree to see how things were going on. If the birds appeared to
win, it flew over to their sid saying that it was a bird. But if it saw animals
coming out victorious, I sided them saying that it was an animal. In this way
it offended both the parties. At last the animals won the day. But they turned
it out of their camp. Then it tried to join the birds. But they tore it into
pieces saying that it was either a traitor or a spy.
Moral: A rolling stone gathers no moss.
