The story:
An old farmer was lying in his death bed. He wished his lazy sons to earn an
honest living. He said to them that a great treasure lay hidden in his field.
But he had forgotten where it exactly was. The news filled them with delight.
And they began to look for it, soon after his death. The dug up the fields very
carefully from one end to the other, but they could not find it anywhere. They
were greatly disappointed. But they decided to make the best of a bad bargain.
They showed their fields with corn and watered them well. The result was a
great surprise for them all. There sprang up in those fields a crop many times
richer than ever. Then they understood the real meaning of their father’s last
words. They were glad to discover the hidden treasure he hinted at. It was not
gold but abundant he hinted at. It was not gold but abundant crop which was the
fruit of their honest labour.
