The Story: A foolish boy one returned home after completing
his primary education. He was sitting at the dining table with his illiterate
parents. He saw two roasted chickens in a plate in front of him. He thought of
a clever plan to display his learning “How many chickens are these” said he to
his mother. “Two my darling,” said she. “No mother,” said he, “I can prove them
to be three.” “How can that be possible, my son?” said she in great surprise. “Now,
look here, “said he, as he pointed surprise. “ Now look here, said he, as he
pointed at the first time, “This is one,” Yes, that’s quite true,” Said she.
Then he pointed at the second chicken and said, “This is tow.” “Yes there’s no
doubt about it,” remarked his mother. “And even a fool knows full well that One
and Two make THREE,” said he, with a smile on his face.
His father
did not like this joke. He decided to teach him a lesson there and then. So he
said to him, “I shall have one; and your mother, the other. As for yourself,
you can have the third.
