AN OMNIBUS
is a large public conveyance. It is much large than a lorry and is driven by
diesel oil. It is fitted with comfortable seats for about sixty to eighty
persons. A few front seats are reserved for ladies. They have a door in it for
their exclusive use. It stops at places fixed for its stoppage in order to pick
up passengers or to let them get down. It has a conductor issue tickets and
tries to provide every comfort to those who travel by it. It is cheaper and
quicker by far than a Tonga. It is a boon for students, clerks and workmen of
all classes. Its fare is nothing as compared with the comfort it provides. It
is, in many ways, a blessing for those who live in big cities.
