THE RAILWAY
TRAIN consists of an engine and a number of bogies. If a train carries
passengers, it is called a passenger train. If it carries goods, it is called a
goods train. If it carries goods, it is called a goods train. If it runs very
fast and stops at important stations only, it is called an express or a mail
train. It is controlled by a driver and one or two fire-men. The officer-in-In
charge of the railway train is called the guard. The driver has to obey his
signals, and he cannot start or stop the train of his own accord. There are
three classes of compartments in a passenger train. A first class passenger
pays nearly 11 paisa per kilomer: a second class passenger, nearly 6 paisa per
kilometer; and an Air conditioned class passenger, nearly 35 paisa per
kilometer. But mail and express train passengers as well as sleepers in first
and A.C. class pay something more for additional comfort. But second and first
class compartments are often packet to suffocation.
