THE AERO PLANE is a wonderful invention of this age. It
marks the conquest of air by man. It is the realization of the dream of the
Wright Brothers. It is just like a huge bird in shape. It has two large wings and a long tail. It
has two to six engines worked by petrol. It can seat four to a hundred passengers
or even more, in two rows. It can fly at a speed of 200 to 800 miles an hour.
It has small wheels under it. At first it moves on the runway like a motor car.
It gains speed within a few minutes, before it begins to rise from the ground.
It flies at a height of nearly 20,000 feet. Sitting in it, we can have our
breakfast in one country: lunch, in another, and dinner in the third. It has
greatly helped nations to come closer to one another. It is used for carrying
bombs, weapons of war, soldiers and para-troops in the days of war. The
strength of a country depends on the strength of her air force.
