LIQAT AND I
visited the Museum last month. We spent about two hours over there. We saw
wonderful specimens of painting, pottery, carpentry of painting, pottery,
carpentry, sculpture, weaving, embroidery and architecture. Being students of
History we saw, with great interest, the pictures of ancient rules as well as
their garments, coins and arms. We gathered round the clay models, showing
different types of rural life. We looked very closely at small models of
railway engines, railway trains, boats and ships. We saw dead snakes preserved
in bottles; we saw dead snakes preserved in bottles; and birds and beats,
preserved in cupboards. We spent some time in examining things dug out from
Taxila. They gave us just a peep into the ancient civilization of our dear
motherland. The visit cost us eight rupees for tickets and taxies. But we
learnt so much by going there, that we could not make any better use of the
sum.
