THE SPRING is the queen of all seasons. It looks like the
lovely morning of nature. It follows winter and lasts from March to May. Trees
put forth new leaves. Green grass spreads all over the earth. The cattle get
plenty of fresh fodder. The garden hedges look very beautiful. The air is
filled with the sweet smell of flowers of many kinds. Birds fly about very
merrily, and the trees resound with their sweet songs. The butterflies spring
from tree to, and the bees fly from flower to flower to gather honey. The
farmers plough their fields to prepare them for the summer crops. The sky is
clear, and the stars twinkle at night. People are glad to get rid of also glad
to sleep in the open, to take exercise in the morning, and to enjoy cold drinks
like the sherbet and the lassi. Snow melts on the mountains, and a lot of water
begins to flow down into the rivers. It is the best part of the year, for there
is life, freshness and joy everywhere.
