Wheat is an important crop of our Pakistan. It is sown in
winter, and the harvest is reaped in April. It needs rich soil and fairly dry
climate. It is the chief food of a large majority of people in here in
Pakistan, where it grows in abundance. But we need more wheat than is produced
in our fields. Nevertheless our government in helping the farmers to make
Pakistan self-sufficient in food. And this goal will, Insha Allah be achieved
very soon. England, Russia and Rumania are splendid wheat-growing countries of
the world. But the largest what-growing country is America. She sells her
surplus stocks to other, countries. Our government gets a lot of it from there,
to meet our requirements. We are bent upon bringing about an agricultural
revolution in our country. Time-old ploughs are fast giving place to tractors,
and hand-made tools are being replaced by machines for swing, watering,
weeding, raping and thrashing.
