MUHAMMAD ALI
JINNAH was born at Karachi on December 25, 1876. His father, poonja Jinnah, was
a rich merchant of Gujrat Kathiawar. He was sent to England at the suggestion
of English friend of his father. He was only 18, when he went there to study
law. He gave a very good account of himself as a student, and returned to
India, as a barrister, in 1896. It did not take him long to establish himself
as a top-grade lawyer. He joined the Indian National as a top-grade layer. He
joined the Indian National Congress, and worked day and night as a great
supporter of Hindu-Muslim unity. But, to his great disgust, he found that every
leader was a Hindu at heart, working for Hindu-Raj, under the garb of
nationalism. He left the congress and joined the Muslim League. He fought for
the rights of the Muslims and was called the Quaide-i-Azam by them. He won
Pakistan, against the wishes of the Hindus and the silkhs. He became the first
Governor-General of the Large Muslim country in the world, on the 14th
of August, 1947. He worked day and night to make Pakistan great and strong. But
hard told upon his health and he passed away on the 17th of
September, 1948. He was the founder of Pakistan, and the whole nation mourned
his death. He was one of the greatest statesmen of his time. May his soul rest
in peace! Amen!
