LIQAT ALI
KHA was born in 1895 in a rich Nawab family at Karnal. He got his M.A. from
Aligarh and went to Oxford to study law. On his return home as a barrister, he
began to take active a part in politics. He began to rake active part in
politics. He worked with the Quaid-i-Azam, as the General Secretary of the All
India Muslim League, for many years. He became the first prime minister of
Pakistan on August 14, 1947. He worked hard under the guidance of the father of
the Nation. But his responsibilities greatly increased after the death of the
fonder of his young state. He made a tour of every part of Pakistan in order to
understand the people and their problems. He was shot at, by a pathan fanatic at
Rawalpindi, on October 16, 1951. It was the second darkest day in the history
of the youngest Muslim State of the world. He was buried beside the
Quaide-i-Azam the next day. Lacs of Muslim attended his funeral prayers. May
his soul rest in Peace! Ameen !
