WHEN YOU want to get a cheque cashed
at a bank, sign it on its back and present it to the clerk at the counter. He
will compare your signature with the spelling of your name, as written by the
drawer himself. In case there is no difference between the two, he will issue a
token to you. After that he posts the cheque in the day book and dispatches
very carefully the drawer’s signature on the cheque with the specimen the same
in the bank record. If he is satisfied, he passes the cheque and sends it over
to the cashier. He announces the number of the token, and makes the payment to
you, as soon as he receives the token.
