The Last Two Minutes in AN Examination Hall

THE LAST two minutes in an examination hall are very trying. There is the dread of the Superintendent's announcement that the time is up. The invigilators are getting ready to snatch the answer-books away. There are still some pages to be revised. The loose-sheets have yet to be stitched up. Hand tremble, fingers refuse to hold the pen to do any more writing, and the hearts begin to beat loud and fast. There is yet a lot to be done but, with the striking of the clock, the candidates are ordered to stop writing. So they all stand up, to hand their answer-books over to the Superintendent or any of his assistants before they leave the hall.
