Post card
THE POST-CARD is a piece of thick paper. It is oblong in shape. It is 5 inches long and 3 inches broad. Its price is ten paisa only.
But, not very long ago, it used to cost much less than that. It is quite blank on one side. It is blank on the halves.
It bears the stamp of the postal department and the word post-card printed on it. The part bearing the stamp is reserved for the address of the person to whom it is to be posted.
Simple English
Thus the whole of one side and half of the other are meant for the sender to write on these whatever he likes.
If it is under stamped the addressee has to pay double the price paid short by the sender. If the address is incomplete it goes to the Dead Letter office.
Autobiography on post card
If the sender's address is found out it goes back to him; otherwise it is destroyed by the postal department.
In every other case it reaches the addressee within the shortest possible time.
